Upon arrival, you will discover a fantastic place with modern comfort and all facilities. The farm comprises nine buildings surrounding a small yard. All the buildings are built in the traditional Norwegian mountain farm style. There is a main building, meeting room, stable, and 16 spacious guest rooms, many featuring a loft. The reception and cozy dining room with adjoining relaxation area are located in the main building.
Day 1;
Arrival at the airport we will collect you and transfer you by mini coach. After just 45 minutes driving to Ongajok you will be checking in. At approximately 5pm that evening your trips start with Snow Shoeing from Ongajok Mountain Farm where you will go up over the fantastic Mathisdalen Valley. After a hike of around 30 minutes, we stop to make a fire and brew up a hot drink. The total duration of this tour is around two and a half hours.
Snowshoes are easier to master than most people imagine, and are actually far easier than traditional cross-country skis. Most people can simply put on a pair of snowshoes and set off straight away. We plan the tour to suit the participants' fitness level. In other words, anyone who can walk 3 km will have no problem participating.
Day 2:
After waking in the morning you will enjoy a lovely breakfast and then following by Full-day snowmobile safari including lunch in a lavvo. Snowmobile safaris are always popular. Our snowmobile safaris are a nature-based experience filled with high-speed action, excitement and fun, and are a great way to experience the northernmost part of Norway.
We set off from Ongajok Mountain Farm and drive for around an hour by snowmobile to our camp in the high mountains. The view en route could best be described as breath-taking. Everyone can try ice-fishing and there is a good chance that you will catch a fish. We can warm up in the lavvo (traditional Sami tent) and enjoy a hot lunch here. If we catch fish, we will grill it in the lavvo. It's hard to imagine a lunch fresher than that!
You can also try tobogganing in an excellent toboggan hill near the camp. A normal level of fitness and a valid motor vehicle driver's license is required to drive a snowmobile. No previous snowmobile experience is required as full training is provided before we set off.
Meals included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch in a tent in the high mountain. Dinner at Lodge.
Day 3:
This day you get a few hours to relax and enjoy the surrounding atmosphere before you are off again at 5pm for a very special evening. A night out in the forest, where we sleep in heated tents and breakfast is prepared on the camp fire.
We set off from Ongajok Mountain Farm. After a five-minute walk using snowshoes or on foot, we arrive at the lavvo (traditional Sami tent) encampment. A hot drink is served on arrival and dinner is prepared in the lavvo. We sleep on camp beds in heated tents, so nobody will freeze! Breakfast is prepared outside on the camp fire, which is an experience in itself. Transport by snowmobile is available for guests with walking difficulties. Or in other words, this tour is suitable for everyone, regardless of their fitness level. The guides on all of our tours are extremely experienced in the great outdoors and are trained to tackle unexpected situations, so you have nothing to be concerned for. Welcome to the forest in the beautiful Mathisdalen Valley.

We pass several different climatic zones, and end up in extreme high mountainous terrain. The difference in altitude is around 650m and the view from the top is incredible.
We serve hot coffee at the top while you enjoy the stunning view. If we are lucky and the weather is clear, we will be able to see the Northern Lights at their very best. It was no coincidence that a Northern Lights Observatory was located here in these mountains a century ago! If the weather gods choose to give us a blizzard on this trip, I can promise an experience the likes of which few have experienced. Lunch at the lodge. For the evening you will depart at 5pm for a Bonfire in the wilderness and hunting the Northern Lights with Dinner at the lodge. Meals included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
